How to Help Keep Fresh Cut Flowers Longer

The United States has a diverse ecosystem that allows for many species of plants and flowers to grow. The native flowers in the U.S. vary in location and color and form. The Prickly Pear Cactus is a robust plant, often lying flat on the ground, and under good conditions in a garden, can grow one to two feet in height. It will also propagate large pillows and produce beautiful yellow flowers. This meandering cactus produces red, bristle-covered, pear-like fruit that gives it the name”Prickly Pear ” . It is a native flower in the United States just east of the Rocky Mountains in the southwestern U.S. The plant grows well in dry soil in open pine forests and meadows and pastures, but also do well as a potted plant or a rock garden.
